45596 Bahamas at Speed Through a Busy South Wales with the Cathedrals Express.
With two major events in South Wales today, the Oasis Reunion in Cardiff and the Airshow in Swansea meant the area was extremely busy. Packed trains and platforms didn't put off Bahamas' debut over the border and into Swansea. The tour began in Dorridge with the final pick up point in Gloucester, before entering Wales, the Jubilee then took on water at Newport Station before venturing to Cardiff and beyond. We then caught up with the tour on the blocks at Swansea before heading to Landore Triangle for reversal. After bring turned we see Bahamas heading up the 1in89 from Landore with 37240 on the rear doing the lions share of the work. On the return run, we see the tour heading through Caldicot Level Crossing working hard after a standing start before Severn Tunnel Junction for a stopping service. It was good to see a Jubilee class doing its thing on the mainline, with 45596 in its final few months of boiler ticket.
