Walsall Station (West Midlands) on 10th October 2025
On my return from North Wales, I diverted off the M6 Motorway to call in at an old haunt of mine, Walsall Station, to the North of the city of Birmingham. Perched half way up the shopping centre car park next to the station, I started off my visit by filming the activity from this viewpoint. EMU Class 730's were seen on local services to and from Birmingham and later in this video services to/from Rugeley Trent Valley via Cannock and Birmingham International. These sets are in the Orange/Purple colour scheme of the West Midlands Railways Livery. I moved down onto platform level and was subjected to a quick flurry of GBRf Class 66's on a variety of freightliner duties. An unidentified Class 70 is seen arriving in the distant loop in the Bescot direction, but unfortunately I missed it's departure. The next two hours, was taken up with the Class 730's on their regular runs. I may give the place a closer look in the coming year, as the frequency of freight varies during the day.
