DAMAGE at Kidderminster Station Plus D213 WHISTLER in the Birmingham Tunnels! 25/08/25

See the Western Wanderer LSL tour arrive at Birmingham New Street with Class 40 D213 'Andania' in the charge for the opening leg. The Whistler making a lovely sound as it accelerates out of New Street through the tunnels.

Next up is a visit to Kidderminster to see the recent damage caused to the buffer stops at the station end of the run around line. A shunting incident earlier in the bank holiday weekend saw Mk1 coach 25498 ride up the buffer stops derailing the coach and causing damage to the station brickwork and buffer stop. A prompt visit by Rail Support Services (RSS) got the coach back on the rails with station repairs needed next. An unwanted event for the SVR after the challenges with the line closure earlier in 2025.
