Description
A few minutes of activity with a pair of 37s on a Network Rail infrastructure test train that ran across the Anglia area between 27th January & 1st February 2025.

This time the train ran as 1Q18, most likely due to the inclusion of MENTOR, the Overhead Line Inspection Vehicle. Locomotives used were both hired in by Colas, Andania Engineerings 37402 "Oor Wullie" carrying a heritage West Highland large logo livery and HNRC/Swietelsky 37610 carrying a blue with full yellow nose ends small logo livery.

The train was seen and heard at Bradfield & Mistley on 29th January and at various locations around Manningtree and Mistley on the night of the 31st January/1st February.

The locos both had a good turbo whistle and a lot of bass which is alway popular. At Bradfield the locos could be heard before they appeared, the location is unfortunately facing the train as it comes downhill at that point.

The turbos were whistling well as the train passed Manningtree a little bit down on time on the late evening of 31st January. In both directions the bright roof light on MENTOR made the train easy to keep track of as it crossed the causeway across the River Stour between Manningtree station and Brantham. The whole evening was wind free, after the train arrived at Mistley it was then seen from the road along the side of the River, first passing behind me as it headed between Mistley and Manningtree then crossing the Stour causeway again toward Ipswich with the lights reflecting off the water.
