In support of the England National Team's progression in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Thameslink and partners temporarily renamed some station signs at Bellingham to the name of one of England's star players this campaign.
Bellingham Station itself is located in south-east London, within the London Borough of Lewisham, having opened in 1892 on a section of railway line known as the Catford Loop. Presently, the station sees a decent suburban service between London and Kent. Looking southerly, its service generally consists of 2tph to Orpington and 2tph to Sevenoaks with Thameslink, and a limited service by Southeastern between London and the Medway towns.
The station is expected to return to its original name by Monday 13 July.
