Woking Station on 8th February 1991 (After Heavy Snowfall)
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Woking Station taken on 08/02/1991. On this day the South East awoke to a heavy covering of snow which had fallen from the previous evening and throughout the night. It caused the expected chaos with roads and railway, but did not stop me from visiting Woking Station in the morning. Trains were battling through for the morning rush and seemed to cope quite well from this clip. As always the snow thawed and most was back to normal soon later. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
The footage shows the station and surrounding area during the early morning rush as trains continue to operate despite the weather conditions. British Railways is identified as the operator, and the location includes Woking and Hope. A locomotive with stock number 50031, likely from class 50, is present in the recording. The video provides a historical glimpse of railway operations during this period.
Fishplate has identified 1 locomotive in this video. We’ve also matched 1 operator . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
