Probably the busiest station in Europe for freight is Hannover Linden. 12 hours here will typically get you well over 100 freight trains/light engine moves. As seen here the variety is amazing with the volume of traffic & its easy enough to get to from the airport. Highly recommended spot! Sadly the S-bahn trains do often bowl you out & you need a cloudy day here to get the best pics. Never such thing as the perfect location but this is pretty good.
