BR in the 2010s Dover, Cheriton and Dollands Moor (Kent) on December 22nd - 24th 2011
Cheriton and Dollands Moor Near Folkestone (Kent)
Plus Shakespeare Cliff (Dover)
22nd - 24th December 2011
A month further on from my last visit to Kent, I gave Shakespeare Cliff another visit, and this time in lovely sunshine 'also armed with my new camera. A few shots were still taken with the old camera before retiring it. 34067 "Tangmere", which seemed to be doing the rounds that particular month, was hauling Steam Dreams "The White Cliffs Luncheon" with Diesel Locomotive 37685 "Loch Arkaig" at the rear. Running on a round trip from London Victoria to Canterbury West then returning via Dover and Folkestone. The next day in dreadful wet conditions I did a pre visit to Dollands Moor and witnessed a few Eurostars ,395s and 375s and gained much clearer footage from the Bargrove Bridge, the following day on my return journey home. High up on the North Downs Way I filmed the activity 420 feet below me at the Cheriton Yard, where again I witnessed more Eurostar's and the Eurotunnel Class 9000s with their 7,500 HP shuttling trains between there and Frethun Yard in France. The Eurostar's were bound for either Paris, Brussels or London. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually.. Many thanks to all subscribers and for the likes, also to all those viewers whom over the years, have kindly shown an interest and appreciation in my material. If you have enjoyed this production, then please like and subscribe... The video was made with a mixture of clips from two cameras, but the overall resolution is 1920x1080 and was with a few hiccups on rendering, due to my error with the 2nd Video track, where a scene is duplicated at Shakespeare Cliff. I get confused easily!
