Leamington Spa Station on 22nd June 2010

On this very warm and sunny day, I made a visit to Royal Leamington Spa Station on my way to Walsall and Nottingham, and I set my camera up with kind permission from the staff, on the "Up" platform, so as to be able to see around the sharp curves outside the station. I captured on film Class 168 "Turbo's" on the Marylebone - Birmingham route and also a Class 165 "Turbo" on a Birmingham to London Marylebone Chiltern Railways service. "Voyager" class 220s are also seen on the "Cross Country" services north and south bound from Bournemouth and Poole. A couple of freightliners passed through the station in the hands of EWS Class 66's and the best captures were the Class 67 Locomotives on the "Wrexham and Shropshire" services, which ran out of London Marylebone to Birmingham and Wrexham. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories.
