Description
Travelling by the Train Engineer (Loco Pilot's) cabin has been the dream of Railfans. Here is a video that shows how a German InterCity train's cab looks like as the train speeds through high bridges and long tunnels.

I'm not sure if this is regular, but our train was taken towards Esslingen from Stuttgart, before stopping at Stuttgart for nearly twenty minutes. Meanwhile, two regional Double Deckers and two InterCity trains overtook us. There after, we reversed all the way back to Neckarpark and switched tracks to take the line to Frankfurt.

This video is not technically a loco ride, as I was taking the video through a transparent but locked door. The loco was in the rear after Esslingen and it was being controlled from the first coach which as the controls.

I was in the last coach from Stuttgart to Esslingen which became the front coach as the train reversed.

This type of controls used to be present in the Sapthagiri Express back in India but was removed in 2012.
