Exeter Railfair, 2nd May 1994
There were quite a collection of locomotives on display at Exeter, from all the different business units of the time. Also visible is the same common sense attitude to health and safety I referred to in my Old Oak Common Open Day video.
On the return the three 37s worked the train back to Paddington, which is seen departing Reading, followed by 47817 on the up relief. The two BRT 20s worked the other train back to York. A good day out!
A rail event took place at Exeter in May 1994 to commemorate 150 years of railways in the city, drawing railway enthusiasts and several railtours. Locomotives such as BR Standard tank engines 80080 and 80079 were present, along with multiple British Railways Class 37 and Class 20 units. The event included trains departing from Reading and York, with some heading to Paignton and others returning via Paddington. A variety of locomotives from different operators were on display at Exeter St Thomas.
Fishplate has identified 4 locomotives in this video. We’ve also matched 3 operators . Create a free account to see where they appear, unlock timestamps and locations, and view the full breakdown.
