Colas 37254 Slips Out Of York On 3J51 December 2024
See 37254 slip out of York on 3J51, performing to the small crowd on the end of the platform. 116 joining in at the rear. This was probably one of my favourite videos I have of our 3J51 RHTT.
37254 had a solid 2024 RHTT season, making some great rackets throughout the season, it is also quite a slippy Colas /0 so that proved well. Unfortunately it didn't really have a good year in 2025, faults took it out early (un) fortunately. 37099 was at the head of most 3J51 workings I saw going into Holgate and sadly it isn't a great loco and it took some nagging to reach full power on a Holgate departure, so most were quite silent in 2025. Hopefully it isn't invited back for the 2026 RHTT season.
With any Holgate departure, the loco is signal checked quite strictly, the signal only lights up with 'H' when the train is very close to the signal or stopped. In this clip the loco had the path, but only recieved the signal when it was next to me.
*** I haven't been able to recover any footage yet, so this is one of the only things postable I've been able to find***
Thanks for watching!
