Welcome back to Trains & Freight Diaries for an action-packed winter session filmed at the unique junction of Tamworth High and Low Level stations, where the West Coast Main Line meets key Cross Country and regional routes. Despite freezing temperatures, the railway delivered continuous movement throughout the morning and early afternoon.
Passenger highlights include Cross Country Voyagers such as 220030 & 220017 on 1S35, 220023 on 1E79, 220009 & 220013 on 1V46, and multiple Super Voyager pairings including 221111 & 221136 on 1V48, 221139 on 1S39, and 221132 on 1S45. Regional services were handled by Class 170 Turbostars, including 170103 on 1G09, 170618 on 1G22, 170112 on 1D59, and 170114 & 170113 on 1V09.
High-speed action was provided by Avanti West Coast Class 390 Pendolinos, with units 390128, 390009, 390148, 390126, and 390138 charging through the high-level platforms at speed on WCML services.
