Isle Of Wight Railway on 20th March 1993
Not the private railway
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of a day trip I made to the Isle of Wight on 20/03/1993. The main railway at this time was in the hands of class 483 stock and I captured these delightful trains at Ryde St Johns Rd, just to the north of Brading then Sandown and finally a quick look at the other end of the line at Shanklin. It was a gorgeous day weather wise which made the island such an attractive place. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.
The footage includes views from locations such as Shanklin, Brading, Sandown, and St Johns, highlighting the railway's operation during the early 1990s. The recording provides a nostalgic look at this period of rail travel on the island, with an emphasis on the visual appeal of the line and its surroundings.
