As part of Her Majesty The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations 'Torbay Express Limited' ran 'The Diamond Jubilee Express' on this day from Poole in Dorset via Reading and Willesden to Windsor & Eton Riverside. Steam Locomotive 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' arrived in fine style at Windsor, where I filmed her. The train departed for Staines with Locomotive 67005 'Queen's Messenger' at the helm. The High Capacity Class 450s (Depicted by the HC above the unit number) are seen on the Windsor and Eton/London Waterloo services, arriving and departing on their frequent duties. A little later in the day I transferred myself to Sunnymeads Station towards Staines, where again capturing on film the 450's on their regular service trains, and finally a shot of the 'Diamond Jubilee Express' on her second trip to Windsor & Eton Riverside. Later this tour was diverted via Staines and Reading to make up for lost time. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories.
