Tesco Causes CHAOS at Carlisle 09 February 2026
On the Monday there was a nice range of freight plus the New Measurement Train but just after midday things started to look odd. Trains were not moving north on the West Coast Main Line. The Tesco train had stopped at Quintinshill blocking the line for two hours! Carlisle handle's chaos pretty well and we see how it pans out.
On the Tuesday early evening a Class 93 was being tested on an intermodal special from Seaforth Container Terminal. Around 1000Tonnes to climb out of Seaforth container terminal on its own diesel and battery power and on to St Helens and then on electric. The Class 66 in the consist as insurance apparently wasn't used!
