On yet another wet and windy day, I visited Westbury Station and situated myself on the platforms, avoiding the elements to the best that I could. On this particular visit, DMU Classes 150, and 158s are seen on their regular passenger duties to/from Bristol and the West and SWT Class 159's on the Portsmouth/Bristol/Cardiff runs. A couple of Yeoman and also Hanson Liveried Class 59's worked into and out of the yards at Westbury and to/from the Quarries. (Merehead and Whatley) In their 'Swan Song' period the FGW HST's were still on the West of England/London Paddington route and are seen in this video, one having been named 'The Mayflower' service from Paddington to Plymouth. In addition to these, several class 66 s are captured on film, both of EWS Livery and Freightliner livery. A Ballast Cleaner is also seen shunting up to the camera, from the up yard. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories.
