DEPG Hymek Charter, West Somerset Railway and 9531 Mogul 17th May 2025

My thanks firstly to John and Margaret Crane whom I have know for many years as John and myself were D&EG (DEPG) council and life long members for an invitation to their 50th Wedding Anniversay Dining Special hauled by Hymek D701. The 1961 built Hymek was fresh off Transmission overhaul and repairs by the team at Williton. A fantastic job, and the Hymek performed faultlessly. Well done to all involved.

A lovely day out with Maybach MD870 V16 1750hp traction.

Also filmed was WSR Mogul 9531 departing Bishops Lydeard and slipping until finding its feet.

The Hymek Charter ran Bishops Lydeard to Norton Fitzwarren, then run round to head to Minehead, run back to Williton, run round to Minehead and finally back to Bishops Lydeard for 66 miles of Maybach music and good company.
