BR Class 56 Locomotives in the Pre Digital Age Vol BR56-01
BR Class 56 Locomotives in the Pre-Digital Age
(1987-2000)
Volume BR56-01
Another feature in this new series of Vintage Traction from the pre digital era, from the mid 1980's to the turn of the millenium, when the digital age started to put an end to analogue video...
This feature focuses on the Brush Type 5 Locomotive Class 56, built between 1976 and 1984, the first batch of thirty, being built in Romania and the remainder at BREL Doncaster/Crewe, virtually seen all over England, Scotland and Wales but heavily used around the Midlands and the North and South Wales. These powerful Locomotives were fitted with Ruston Paxman Engines with Brush Electrics. Mainly seen on Coal and MGR workings, but did work on special excursion trains occasionally. I managed to capture quite a few on video before they disappeared for good, fortunately some are still in use today.
This feature covers the period from around 1987 to 2000 filmed in glorious ancient VHS format, later Super VHS, a far cry from today's 4K and Stereo surround sound. I do hope you enjoy the feature and please comment and like, if you feel the video was of some enjoyment and nostalgia to watch.
