Didcot Railway Centre | McAlpine No.31 Back in Operation After Overhaul & 5322 In Fresh Paint! |
We were lucky enough to see Sir Robert McAlpine & Sons No. 31 in steam β a remarkable 0-6-0ST engine built by Hudswell Clarke in 1913. After a major overhaul at Didcot, the locomotive returned to steam in March 2026 and was running demonstration rides during our visit.
Itβs amazing to see such a historic engine, closely linked to the Fawley Hill Railway, back in action β powering up and down the line within the centre. A real highlight for any railway enthusiast!
