Westbury (Wiltshire) + Upton Scudamore (Wiltshire)
28th January 2013
On a wet and windy day, I visited Westbury Station and situated myself on the road bridge overlooking the platforms. Here I witnessed an EWS Class 08 Shunter doing it's business making up a train and FGW DMU Classes 150, 153, and 158 on their regular passenger duties to/from Bristol and the West and SWT Class 159's on the Portsmouth/Bristol runs. I repositioned myself on the platforms where a couple of Yeoman Liveried Class 59's worked into and out of the yards at Westbury and to/from the Quarries. (Merehead and Whatley). In their 'Swan Song' period the FGW HST's were still on the West of England/London Paddington route and are seen in this video. Later in the afternoon I bravely went to Upton Scudamore on the Warminster line, braving and fighting the awful weather, I just managed to see the usual DMU Class 158 and 150. I hope this video takes you back to the period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read, and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually..
