D9000 ROYAL SCOTS GREY, STEALS THE SHOW! Huge Day at Tamworth High & Low Level

Few days deliver variety quite like Tamworth — and on 11th March 2026 the action was relentless. Filmed between 08:30 and 14:30, this session captured everything from heavy freight and high-speed Pendolinos to modern passenger services. But without doubt the star of the show was the legendary D9000 Royal Scots Grey leading The Deltic Express railtour. Seeing a Deltic powering through the West Coast Main Line with a friendly horn from the driver made this an unforgettable day.

Filmed at Tamworth High Level and Low Level stations on 11th March 2026 between 08:30 and 14:30, this video captures a fantastic mix of passenger services, freight workings and special movements along the busy West Coast Main Line corridor.

Without question the highlight of the day was the appearance of D9000 Royal Scots Grey working 1Z07 – The Deltic Express railtour, providing an incredible moment of heritage traction on the modern main line. The locomotive powered through with a fantastic soundtrack and a friendly toot from the driver, making it the standout moment of the session.
