For the first time ever, Hastings Diesels have ran their beautiful Class 201 DEMU that dates back to the late 1950s. The only class 201 that is mainline registered, 201001 (1013 is a set that runs with 001) always does railtours out of Hastings which is where the preservation society are based.

In this video we see the railtour to Cranmore (on the East Somerset Railway) which is the first time the unit has ran in a 10 car configuration under preservation. We see the train at Reading which was it’s last main pickup stop on the railtour
