QUADRUPLE HEADED DIESEL CONVOY! | The Gala Guests head home

Sunday at the West Somerset Railway was a change of pace with some of the diesels in action alongside the resident GWR manor, but following its turn on booked Sunday services, 50033 ‘Glorious’ headed straight off the 15.50 arrival into Bishops Lydeard to form up with 46045, 20189 and 20142 ‘Sir John Betjeman’ at Westridge, before the 50 headed the quadruple header of light engines into Bishops Lydeard, and the 20’s departed pulling the peak and hoover dead in tow past the stored HST headed for the mainline forming the 0Z20 Bishops Lydeard - Kidderminster heritage convoy.

We see 50033 'Glorious' arriving with the 'Dawn Spencer Birthday Special', and catch the formation being prepared, leaving Bishops Lydeard and then passing Huntworth under the M5 motorway, heading towards Bridgwater homeward bound, bringing to a close a great weekend of diesel action on the West Somerset Railway. | 09.06.2024
