On 16th November 2019, one of Colas' track machines at Swindon failed and required work to get it back up and running. That evening, Colas dispatched 37099 down to Didcot for an overnight stay before a rescue mission commenced on 17th November 2019. It has been a long while since anything remotely interesting has stabled in Didcot Yard, so upon hearing this plan, I headed up to Didcot on 17th November. This video sees 37099 departing Didcot Yard where it had stayed overnight to reverse at the Fuelling Point, where you can see it arriving in Didcot Platform 3. It then departed Didcot Platform 3 towards Swindon to commence the rescue. Finally we catch it later that day hauling a failed tamper to Rugby D.E.D. via Oxford at Didcot North Junction.
