Description
Hello Viewers

In this video we see the iconic SR Merchant Navy Class numbered 35028 and known as Clan Line.

35028 'Clan Line' was built at Eastleigh Works and entered service on 23 December 1948 from Bournemouth depot. 35028 was a British Railways loco, not a Southern built one and entered service in Malachite green livery, later in 1951 being repainted into the express Blue livery. Nowadays it carries the BR Green (Late crest) Livery.

Today (20/02/25) Clan Line was hauling the Golden Age of Travel by Steam Excursion operated by Belmond. This tour started in the English Capital which then chuffed it's way through South London then working it's way through to the Medway Towns such as Rochester and Gillingham then making it's way to Faversham, Canterbury East and Dover Priory where the first part of this journey concluded. After a short break the Merchant Navy set of to embark it's return leg towards London. Chuffing through Folkestone and then storming through Ashford as seen on video here, Clan Line makes light work of the challenge and powers through On Time and remains the timing status all the way to Sevenoaks where she picked up a slight delay. Not to worry tho! As it quickly picks up time again and passes through Orpington and Bromley South before cruising into Victoria where this excursion will terminate
