NEW GBRf 99007 leaves Portbury for Leicester LIP with 57305 + LSL Pacer 142003 at St Philips Marsh!
We also see Locomotive Services Pacer 143002 which arrived sneaking in around the back, bypassing Bristol Temple Meads, running direct to St Philip’s Marsh. This unit had arrived in Bristol ahead of a GWR staff collaboration private charter to Portbury and Weston Super Mare tomorrow, wearing its Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive livery and looking resplendent the sunlight. It was used in Friday for a special one off trip conveying industry partners to mark the beginning of building work on the Portishead line. Following the run, contracts were officially signed to ensure work can start on building the necessary infrastructure required to enable the line to reopen to commuters and serve the growing population commuting to Bristol from Portishead and the surrounding areas.
It is hoped from around the end of 2028, hourly passenger services will return to the Portishead line running under I K Brunels famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, so all eyes on the next chapter! | 30.04.2026
