Some 68s were leased to Chiltern Railways and Transpennine Express. A special charter service was operated from London Euston, with locomotives DRS 68016 'Fearless' and 88005 'Minerva'. The event also included a convoy of locomotives at Crewe, including WCRC 37706, Ian Riley Black 5 44871, and WCRC's Jubilee 45690 'Leander', which was later moved to The Crewe Heritage Centre.
