A rare appearance of BR Class 201 Hastings DEMU 1001 is captured in Derbyshire, operating the "Derby Researcher" service from Hastings to Derby. The narrow-bodied unit, built between 1957 and 1958, was originally used on the London-Hastings route via Tunbridge Wells. Withdrawn in 1986 following route upgrades, it was later preserved by the Hastings Diesel Group and remains in mainline service today. The video highlights this historic unit's continued use on railtours and charters from St. Leonards depot.
