Description
Despite the 50th anniversary celebrations of the 1970's classic film "The Railway Children" being cancelled in 2020, the film's success continues to be celebrated by the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway, with the return to traffic of Lancashire & Yorkshire 957, appearing in the fictional guise carried during her film role as 'The Green Dragon', running during the Bank Holiday Railway Children Celebrations.

With 957 taking centre stage on display at Keighley, plenty of action was to be seen at Oakworth station, with recreations of the famous "Red Petticoat" scene, along with the station in full decorum. At Oxenhope, GWR Pannier Tank 5775 sits on display, complete with flags and bunting, as she looked during the film's credits. Meanwhile, USATC S160 5820 'Big Jim' runs services along the line, along with Midland Railway 4F 43924 in her final year of traffic, running with a selection of vintage coaches, with L&Y 957 joining 43924 on the return to Oxenhope.
