Great Central Railway - Winter Steam Gala 2023 - 27-28/01/23
To add to the events southern guests, Bulleid Light Pacific 34039 'Boscastle' was seen on static display at Quorn & Woodhouse, with the engine currently under overhaul, having last steamed in 2000. Home fleet BR Standard 9F 92214 also grabbed much attention, debuting her repaint into unlined BR Black. Other home fleet BR Standards included 5MT 73156, and 2MTs 78018 and 78019, the latter having returned to traffic late last year.
As an addition to steam, BR Derby Lightweight Railcar 'Iris' and the GCR's own Class 101 DMU were on hand to provide additional services across the weekend timetable.

The Great Central Railway hosted its annual Winter Steam Gala in early 2023, featuring a range of historic locomotives and rolling stock.
