Great Central Railway September Diesel Gala 2019
The event also saw extensive running of recent addition to the Great Central Railway home fleet, 50017 "Royal Oak", having arrived at the railway back in February after being put up for sale. The Hoover also appeared alongside a wide selection of the remaining GCR home fleet, including Class 25 D5185 and 37714 "Cardiff Canton"
In addition to the range of diesel locos, the Quorn Wagon and Wagon Group's latest restoration project, ADB 975397 (aka Test Car 2), was on proud display, sporting her original BR Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers livery. This particular vehicle was used between 1974 and 2011 as a means to carry out slip/break testing on new rolling stock entering service on the British Railway Network.
