With Storm Goretti threating blizzard-like conditions across the High Peak on the night of the 8th January, Network Rail snowploughs were readied for snow clearing duties, whilst passenger services were pre-emptively cancelled. Despite less snowfall than forecast, a run out for a pair of ZZA snowploughs would still go ahead, with 1Z99 making an appearance on signal diagrams headed for Buxton.

A dash up to the site of the former Buxton MPD 9D and our cameras capture the arrival of Colas Rail 66848 & 66850 'David Maidment OBE' at the Spa Town, with ZZAs ADB965234 & ADB965236 front and rear. Following a reversal out of Buxton station, we catch the snowplough departing onto the single line section towards Peak Forest, making a brief stop by Buxton Signal Box to collect the single line token.
