*Saturday 19th August 2000* - Class 47 47709 at Portcreek Junction with the 1M32 1440 Portsmouth & Southsea - Blackpool North virgin trains service. It should have be crawling along as Class 47s were restricted to 20MPH from the 50MPH speed limit over the wrought iron riveted bridge spanning over the creek just before the junction which wasn't the case on this day!

This loco was a member of fragonset railways and as it passes by you can see that a graffiti artist has added some extra details to the livery! I believe there was a shortage of Class 47/8 InterCity Long Range (ILRA) sector members around this time which would haul virgin trains, so this fragonset loco was was on hire to virgin trains during the unavailability issue period.
