57305 and 66704 at speed at Hatfield Peverel Station
57305 and 66704 are working the 0Z29 23:40 (02:00 10L) Great Yarmouth- Ferme Park ECS (Empty Coaching Stock) movement in readiness for the UK Rail tours 'The Plant' Kings Cross to Doncaster excursion the following day.
57305 leading first entered service as Brush type 4 D1758 for British Railways on May 23rd 1964.
57305 was numbered 47164 in the 1970s, based at Stratford and was a regular on the Great Eastern Main Line.
In 1977 it was one of two Stratford Class 47 loco's that received a Union Flag on the side to commemorate the Queen's silver jubilee. I can vividly remember seeing 47164 along with 47163 at Chelmsford station on London- Norwich InterCity services around this time just as I became interested in railways.
A video shows GBRf Class 57 locomotive 57305 and Class 66 locomotive 66704 operating at speed at Hatfield Peverel Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in Essex. The footage captures the two diesel units working a movement of empty coaching stock, likely in preparation for a UK Rail tours excursion. Additional information notes that 57305 previously operated as British Railways Class 47 locomotive D1758 and later bore the number 47164 during its service on the Great Eastern Main Line.
