It's Saturday 9th May 2026, the day of the Lincoln Imps promotion parade.
Lincoln City successfully finished in 1st place in the League One 2025/2026 table, which therefore enabled a congratulatory city tour from the football ground, to a pub with the name sake on Riseholme Road.
The parade caused many service problems, as the rolling road blocks were active very prematurely, and released with significant delay. During this, many services were abandoned outside the bus station, or dumped in neighbouring streets.
Several route 6 and 19 services, were dumped on St Mark's Street, due to the blockades early action and late release.
Several route 1, 3, and Hykeham vehicles were dumped on Bank Street behind the Waterside Shopping Centre.
As a result drivers of these routes were not able to take mandatory breaks due to still containing passengers.
Chevron Traffic Management were responsible for the rolling blockades today, and the significant disruption caused by premature closure, then delayed reopening.
