Frustration and Delight 6 Car Lumo and West Highland Pullman Carlisle 09 05 26

Saturday 9th May at Carlisle. As usual plenty of Class 90 and 88-hauled freight.Some were expecting a steam charter but it had been cancelled due to engineering works on the Settle Carlisle line between Kirkby Stephen and Garsdale. However the West Highland Pullman passed through en route from Swansea, and a stop at Penrith, to Inverness for the weekend. Meanwhile Avanti and TransPennine trains were affected by engineering work between Motherwell and Glasgow Central. TransPennine were terminating their Glasgow services here and Avanti also had some terminations.

I was frustrated by the West Highland Pullman passing unexpectedly through Platform 4, due to Platforms 1 and 3 being occupied by terminated trains. Thus although I captured the train entering the station for a crew change, I didnt get past the parked 397 in P3 to get a decent view of it leaving.
In the evening a subscriber alerted me to Lumo Meridian 222601 heading north an hour late. Time to get to the station to see it pass through. As a bonus it stopped for some reason. Looks smart in iots blue livery with some branding referring to Lumo West's Preston HQ.
