Last trip deep into the twilight on the Fort William sleeper
This was filmed in May 2019 - on what was my last ever trip on the old carriages on the Fort William Caledonian Sleeper. Of course, in the end the stock stayed in us for some months after that, but I'm glad my last memories of it are from that clear spring evening. Most of what's filmed here you won't be able to enjoy sealed inside the new trains; the magic of the west highland twilight will be invisible to those sitting in brightly lit interiors.

While the newer trains have since replaced these carriages, the unique ambiance of this route is highlighted in the visuals.
