Trains on the South London Line 2025: Freight and more at Cambria Junction

Channel: CambriaJunction

Description
Most of what I filmed in 2025. Cambria Junction is on the South London Line, where it passes over Loughborough Junction, about half way between Denmark Hill and Brixton. At Cambria Junction there is a connection to the Thameslink line into Blackfriars.
In terms of regular workings, there was not much excitement in 2025 other than an increase in DCR services with 60s and 56s in charge. International traffic continued to be fairly moribund and sadly the Jaguar Land Rover trains between Ditton and the continent ended. On the other hand, 2025 saw quite a variety of traction on the South London Line, provided by an assortment of railtours and one-off workings. This means that 20s (quite a lot of them), 33s, 37s, 43s, 47s, 50s, 56s, 57s, 59s, 60s, 66s, 67s, 68s, 70s, 73s, 92s and 99s all appear in this video. There were a couple of firsts: the first ever 43s to use the line (as far as I know) and also the first ever 99s. It remains the case that 92s hardly ever run under their own power on the third rail network, other than occasional light engine transfers between Wembley and Dollands Moor for the GBRf ones. The video does include one full train hauled by a 92; a delivery of new wagons. There is also one intermodal container train which was returning from what seems to have been a trial on HS1. Intermodals have been absent from the South London Line since they ceased running to/from Thamesport some years ago now.
