Description
Following its starring role at the recent Severn Valley Railway Spring Steam Gala https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5aRvw5t6Sg&t=1657s Caprotti BR 8P Standard 71000 Duke of Gloucester headed from Crewe to Southall yesterday, ahead of working a Steam Dreams originating at Ashford International down to Bath Spa.

The Duke joined the excursion at Hanwell Bridge Loop for a spirited run down to Bath Spa, where we see it arriving and departing. Incase your wondering, no that wasn't an emergency stop at Bath Spa, the train drew forward to allow the crew to unload a passengers item from the rear of the train before heading off for turning at Lawrence Hill.

We then see the train being dragged into Bristol Temple Meads by tail gunner 47805 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013' before departing where we head across to see the locomotive being serviced at Bristol East, with some rateable diesel traction also on depot. We finish with a sequence of the ECS with locomotive charging away heading to pick up passengers at Bath. | 16.05.2026
