The very final moments of mk2/3s on the Caledonian Sleeper
This is the 'Highlander' service, normally conveying portions from Inverness, Aberdeen and Fort William, but on this occasion the Fort William coaches have run from Aberdeen instead, due to a closure on the West Highland line.
Sad to see these coaches go - built for BR, they are what I've travelled on for my entire life and they have given around 40 years of service. They are replaced by the mk5 coaches, already in operation on the Lowland sleeper service.
This is a kind of companion video to the one I made of the first ever mk5 service from Euston:

The service, normally carrying passengers from Inverness, Aberdeen, and Fort William, had its Fort William coaches rerouted from Aberdeen due to a line closure. These carriages, built for British Railways and in service for over four decades, were replaced by newer mk5 units. The footage is part of a series documenting this historic final service.
