London Underground-A Look at Piccadilly Line Destination Blinds 1959 & 1973 Stock

An upload now with a difference. We look through 4 different Piccadilly Line destination blinds. The first is from a 1959 stock when the service only went to Hounslow West, the second is a 1959 stock with Hatton Cross added to the end of the blind as the Piccadilly Line extended towards Heathrow. The third is a rare one in that it is a 1959 stock blind that shows Heathrow, and was made by Aldenham Bus Overhaul Works. The 73 stock should have all been in traffic by the end of 1977 but were delayed, so a few trains of 59 stock lingered on the Picc into 1978. Rather than have expensive plastic blinds produced LT had Aldenham works run off a couple of dozen paper & linen bus style blinds to tide them over. The last blind shown is from a 73 stock, and is longer by the fact the in cab display to tell the crew what was showing on the front is right around the back of the blind box (rather than underneth as on 59 stock) so needed more blank space on the blind to allow this. Depending on how this vid is recieved, i may make other uploads showing other lines blinds or even heritage London bus, tram & trolleybus blinds.
