It's June 1989 and i'm at Doncaster. It was a busy spot for both freight & passenger trains with plenty of classic BR traction. Classes seen are 08, 31, 47 & 56 on freight workings including a BR blue class 56 on an MGR coal working, while the short lived class 91+MkIII+HST power car formations are working Kings Cross to Leeds services. Provincial trains are in the hands of first generation class 101 & 108 DMU's as well as the new Super-Sprinter 156 & class 144 Pacers. An odd working is an HST power car arriving behind a class 47, probably for attention at Doncaster Works. We also see a shot of class 33 115 in the Works, it was there for conversion to a departmental loco in connection with a test train for the Eurostar project.
