Gatwick Airport Terminal Shuttle Train Ride July 2019

Description
Something a bit different now, an airport railway vid. When Gatwick's North Terminal was opened in 1987 a driverless people mover shuttle was opened between the new terminal and the South Terminal where the BR station was. It consists of two concrete tracks, the trains themselves have rubber wheels and are guided by a guide rail. The service runs 24 hours a day and is free to use. One, 3 unit train runs on each track and an emergency platform runs the length of the line. In 2010 new Bombardier CX-100 vehicles replaced the original stock after the system was refurbished. On this vid we ride out on the south line and return on the north. If you liked the video please subscribe to my channel, there are lots more transport & quirky vids to upload!
