LMS Black 5 No 45231 at Carnforth - 5M50 Loaded Test Run Carnforth-Hellifield-Preston - 15th Nov 17
The first clip shows the 'Black Five' supported by the class 37 pass north through Lancaster heading to Carnforth (5Z45) with the later clips showing 45231 reversing through Carnforth station to join its coaching stock then heading off on the loaded test run with the WCR Class 37 at the rear of the train. (5M50).
A LMS 'Black Five' class 4-6-0 steam locomotive, numbered 45231, was seen at Carnforth on 15 November 2017 during a loaded test run to Hellifield, Blackburn, and Preston. The locomotive arrived from Crewe with a support coach and West Coast Railways Class 37 diesel No. 37516 earlier that day. Footage shows the 'Black Five' moving north through Lancaster on service 5Z45 before reversing at Carnforth to join its coaching stock. It then departed on the test run as part of service 5M50, with the Class 37 at the rear of the train.
