Class 50 No. 50050 & Class 45 No. 45118 - 'The North Western Wanderer' (1Z45) Carlisle - 10 Aug 2024
The the first leg of the rail tour ran to Carlisle from Crewe via the West Coast Main Line via Warrington, Preston and Penrith.
Both these class of locos were seen regularly in Carlisle in the late 60s and 70s with the class 50s running from Crewe to Glasgow Central and return prior to electrification and the Peaks on the 'Thames Clyde Express' via the Settle & Carlisle line and also other services.
