GWR Castle No 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' - 'Coastal Explorer' - Carlisle 19th Sept 2015
The video shows the train arriving at Carlisle station and leaving with the empty stock before reversing to Upperby to be serviced and turned. The support crew can be seen examining the loco at Carlisle and word around the station was that the loco had a problem when it arrived at the station, probably a 'hot box'.
A problem was confirmed when the steam engine was replaced by a class 47 diesel (47773) after its arrival with the empty coaching stock back into the station for the return journey. The tour left nearly 2 hours late with the diesel but made up time on the way back.
