46115 Scots Guardsman Arrives at SVR! Replacing Tornado for Railway 200: Trains Through The Ages

🎉 This weekend, the Severn Valley Railway is proudly hosting the Railway 200: Trains Through The Ages event — celebrating 200 years since the opening of the world’s first public passenger railway in 1825. The SVR is marking this historic milestone with a fantastic line-up of steam, diesel, and modern traction, special visiting locomotives, unique liveries, demonstration freight, and the Rail200 Inspiration Train, offering something for every rail enthusiast. It’s a brilliant chance to see how Britain’s railways have evolved over two centuries — all in one place!

🚂 Severn Valley Railway’s Railway 200: Trains Through The Ages event is well underway at Kidderminster! In this video we see:

✅ 46115 Scots Guardsman arriving off the mainline from Carnforth, a very welcome replacement for 60163 Tornado, which had to step in elsewhere to cover another mainline loco’s duties.

✅ Class 50 50033 “Glorious” on the turntable at Kidderminster Diesel Depot, playing a key part in this weekend’s celebrations.

✅ In the station, HydroFLEX unit 799201 proudly sports its new blue Porterbrook livery with special Rail200 decals.

✅ Meanwhile, 37263 stands at the head of the Rail200 Inspiration Train, open to the public until July 6th before it continues its journey around the country.

A fantastic showcase of heritage steam, classic diesel, and future traction — all coming together for this special event!
