Jacobite and Belle at Carlisle: Black 5s, 37s, 90s and Tangmere 30 May 2026
With engineering work underway between Wigan and Warrington, Avanti's Euston Glasgow trains were diverted via Manchester with Edinburghs largely running from Preston. At the same time the intermodals were affected by using that diversion. The mid morning class 90-hauled train had run earlier in the morning when I wasn't at the station.

A Regional Railways liveried Class 37 was also present with a Structure Gauging test train. The Northern Belle arrived later in the day behind Tangmere. Additional railway movements and diversions are mentioned, including Avanti West Coast services affected by engineering work between Wigan and Warrington. Various locomotives and rolling stock from multiple operators were involved in the recorded events.
