Description
Hello and welcome all to those who joined my channel to view my latest video.
On Wednesday 3rd December, I returned back to London Waterloo to some hours of filming.
I always enjoy filming here, I just love the architecture of the station, concourse, facilities, amount of traffic of trains that comes in and out every minute, the views I love it all.
A lot has changed since my last visit, I felt like that I suddenly stepped into new era, as the old BR 455s is now phasing out and will all completely withdrawn ether next Sunday after Farewell Tour in January next year. There is little fewer units as most of them have sadly gone to scrap, and also 458s are also sadly leaving as well sometime next year I think.
New 701 Arterio will be replacing 455s.
It feels quite strange seeing most of Arterios, even when passing them when travelling up and coming back home as I’m used to seeing 455s.
So my thoughts on 701s Arterio… They are okay, but I’m not that too keen on them. I don’t think the design of them is that brilliant, and it doesn’t have that exciting feel compare to 455s! Seeing them on its test run for years was interesting as it was new. But seeing nearly all units running around, I think it will be a bit boring.
What I love about them is the new Interior, it’s much smarter, cleaner as well as the outside, and it’s futuristic.
I understand it’s more space age from 455s, just like Voyagers were from HST 43, Class 47 Intercity, Desiros from Slam Door & Wessex 442s!
Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate Arterios, I’m just not overly fond of them.
Maybe given time they may grow on me, maybe one day I go on a ride on them, see if my opinion change.
Units you will see are Desiros 444, 450, 158 / 159, as I mentioned Arterio 701, 458, & lastly 455.
As I won’t be around to capture Farewell Tour as weekends are my busiest, this video will be the last ever time to feature Class 455, so it is quite emotional as I made my own personal farewell there.
If you like what you see please feel free to leave a comment in section below, and subscribe to me if you so wish.
Hope you enjoy this video, and I’ll see you all in next one.
Bye for now. đź‘‹đź‘‹đź‘‹
